Completely different experience this past year at Audrey Moore. We're very happy there. |
May I ask what age is your swimmer at Audrey Moore? Am considering for my swimmer. |
|
NCAP— they have a group at Franconia Rec Center. We did a year with Potomac Marlins and it wasn’t good— there was very little emphasis on technique. The coaches were rude and unreliable.

To the OP, you are going to get 85 different responses because everyone has a unique experience. We were with NCAP Alexandria at Franconia Rec for many years and switched to Marlins two years ago when our son was 13. He's been to JOs/Jr-Sr Champs multiple times but he wanted a change. We did not get technique/stroke correction with NCAP and have gotten that with Marlins. He's a very different swimmer now in terms of his stroke and how he races. I would agree that the coaches are different but that works for our kid. Barry and Bill are pretty straightforward, sometimes abrupt, but that's just how they are. Doesn't work for all.

| If you're willing to drive a little farther out, go to George Mason in Fairfax and sign up with Centreville Swim Club. We saw a huge transformation in our kid's stroke and confidence after signing up with them. Highly recommend |
| Coach Scott (Trident) is doing amazing things in the Fairfax County/Alexandria area. He gets the most out of kids and all his swimmers see big improvements. |
| My family also lives in the Fort Hunt area and my daughter has been swimming with NCAP for several years. We really like the coaches and are very happy with NCAP. The Potomac Marlins practice in the lanes next us, at the GW Rec Center. They look like a decent group as well, and their coach is all business (I think she summer coaches at Riverside Gardens and they did very well this year). Coach Dylan is one of our coaches and he summer coaches at Waynewood. Really, both clubs are good, but I feel that NCAP is more competitive. |
She’s the only coach there now, and is responsible for traveling to several team meets a year, deal with any and all parents, send all communications for GW and often the team, and she runs groups at 4:45am and coaches evenings? |
Assuming this is the coach? This kind of defensiveness is not a good look. |
