Michigan’s programs and majors probably are stronger in most areas, plus you have a much bigger alumni network. Miami, you get weather, mostly small classes and a private school experience, meaning easier access to some of the services and staff/professors. At Miami, you also are admitted to any major easily and can change easily, which might matter if your student does not make it into their preferred major at Michigan or wants to change later. |
This is how I feel about my dc at Tulane! Younger sibling is very interested in U Miami and I'm glad to hear that it's also a fun visit spot for parents. Heck, if I'm paying that kind of money for my kid to go to school, yes, I want a nice place to visit. No personal desire to go to Ann Arbor in February. |
