ARL has one good team not teams |
Two of the four homegrowns on last year's DC United first team were Arlington products. But I guess that doesn't count. USYNT doesn't mean anything. Full of early bloomers. It's like leading the mile after three laps. If you don't finish in the top three after the fourth lap, nobody remembers or cares. |
| DCU is garbage. |
FWIW, I think Arlington is a solid program. But I do think they would be better off in MLSnext. |
And 12 months from they'll find out if they got accpeted into MLSNEXT, and they'll move the Girls to GA, and all the Arlington parents will magically be signing a different tune if they get accepted |
They declined the invitation to apply so nothing to learn in 12 months. |
| Curious to know if there will be any changes in the coaching staff. |
And my last kid will be in college by then ! |
| You’ll know in 12 months. PP is correct and you are wrong. |
So making an MLS team is an insufficient goal? You measure success purely by the number of local kids who make the Premier League? You should just go dump your life savings on lottery tickets. Likely a better return on investment. |
You have no faith. |
| Th 2011 is looking for a new coach. |
Is Elvin leaving? |
I am not the prior poster. I am not fond of DCU or MLS at all but if my kid makes it to any level of professional futbol I consider it a step above what I have done and what most people are able to accomplish. Let's give some credit here. |
Easy to knock Sal as his antics in the past have not been the best. As a parent who is looking into making a move to either Alexandria, Arlington, Bethesda or Achilles, I find Achilles record of developing high-level players intriguing given their small size and talent pool relative to the other programs. I know internationally, development of the youth is priority over wins and loses. Arlington in ECNL is a difficult pill to swallow in this landscape but I prioritize the development and fit of my child over the alphabet soup of leagues and if Arlington is the best fit, so be it. |
