I'm planning to do ribs and typical finger foods like chip and guac, etc. and Mac and cheese for the kids. Does anyone have ideas for how to accommodate people who may not want pork ribs? I don't even know if people don't want ribs, but I assume 1-2 people may not eat pork just based on having thrown parties before... ? Maybe store-bought chicken wings?

Related - If eating ribs for Super Bowl, would you eat a green salad or coleslaw, or should I skip it?

We're doing this but I've just ordered with Mission BBQ. Everyone loves it and will taste better tthan if I try it (also, in the end, less expensive than if I bought all the ingredients). And I can then offer more sekections.

Mission BBQ is so gross! So salty not like real BBQ.

Chicken wings are the obvious alternative to pork ribs, but you could also have chicken taquitos, marinated beef or chicken skewers, or chicken nuggets/strips.

I'd love coleslaw with the ribs!

Ugh. For a super bowl? What are you in India or something?

Umm hmm. Baby, good food is good food! I don't want to eat whatever usual frozen food fare is being suggested here. It will be an insult to my Indian heritage and my cooking skills. Also, we have vegetarians, vegans and people with nuts and dairy allergy. At least everybody will get to eat something delicious and filling.

Skills? Does seem to be lacking if that is the only kind of food you can think of. Plus many of those items are bought anyways.

Delicious? That is questionable.

So rude.

No it's not. You could vary it up to include some Indian and also other types of food.

Why? I have to accommodate your sensibilities in my home, in my party, with my guests? Will I be forbidden to watch Super Bowl if my menu is entirely Indian?

Who said anything about being forbidden to watch? Talking about food on this food forum.

Wow, ugly got into this thread.

Can I come to your feast? It sounds like you've composed a delicious meal from your own cooking and the best of catered. It also sounds worth a a carb and fats exception for an adult.

Then add a variation of finder foods. With kids I would add some pigs in a blanket, chicken nuggets or tenders, or even small pieces of pizza. All stuff that while it tastes better warm, kids will still eat as it cools.

Then some basic snack foods - veg and dip, tortilla and salsa. I know I have seen a ton of Football dips on here like buffalo chicken dip.

This is the answer.

My lesson is that if my husband is in charge of making "nachos," he pours a bag of chips on a tray, dumps half a bag of shredded cheddar on top and sticks it in the oven. Didn't even get salsa out of the pantry!

But it was fine. Well, I caved and pulled out salsa for my portion.
