Same here. I max out my 401K (25% current rate) and it is about 55% of my gross.

International staff here so a bit different but overall 57% compared to official gross salary

- My net salary is 170000 (my gross salary officially would be *1.25 so 221000 - doesnt include SS contributions which i am not eligible for)
- Then with additional pension (which would be equivalent to SS contributions) and 401k contributions. as well as Health insurance, it comes down to 128160 in my bank account (57% of 22100)

Last year I made 600k and took home 116k net in paychecks (a good portion of my income is from bonus/restricted stock units). I paid 252k in taxes.

Net is about 52 percent of gross. Spouse with similar salary nets about 56 percent of gross. We both max out 401k and max out my HSA, plus we have some dependent care FSA contributions and optional life insurance, plus taxes.

I also get a bonus of about 1.5 months' pay that typically nets to something over 60 percent of that gross.
