Drip coffee is $4 a cup now?!!

If you don't like the price then don't buy it. Simple solution. First world gripe.

At these prices, glad I gave it up.

Soak the addicted tourists.

Awesome, I'll just buy a lake house to save on my coffee

$4 is not that bad. Otherwise you will brew it yourself. But good beans and equipment can be pricey

If they're not tipped can I stop tipping for a cup of drip coffee?!

I bought my annual tall peppermint mocha a few weeks ago in NYC. It was $8.50 including a $1 tip.

I switched from coffee to tea and I love it

I just buy lattes all the time and never think about it.

This morning I got a small coffee from the Whole Foods self-serve machine in the bakery area and it rang up as $2.50. It’s like a digital made to order automatic coffee cup machine. Unsure if these are in all stores? It was using WF organic beans.

Espresso with steamed milk is a premium coffee drink made by trained baristas. Drip coffee from a container should be cheap.

Make your own coffee. Easy.

Every once in while it is a nice splurge to get a specialty coffee. It’s just a treat. Like a dessert. 🍮 like maybe 3x a year

A grande is $4.95 where I live

can you read?

a small is not a grande.

NP, here. I’m not Italian or faux sophisticated. Small, medium or large are my sizes, no matter what the menu says for sizes.

It does make me feel really old because I remember when I started working it was 65 cents for a cup of coffee at your average deli. I’m 52. Using just general inflation numbers that cheap cup of coffee should only be about $1.40 today.
I think there have been major issues with coffee plantations in Mexico and Central America though — that market sort of collapsed a while ago and then I think climate change is impacting the African coffee suppliers. There’s probably someone that knows more about this….
