| I think I may have ruined Santa for a little girl today! Her mom came to pick up a toy I was selling and while opening her SUV trunk mentioned it was a surprise gift. I said, “oh nice, Christmas present?” She sort of hesitated and said yes, then screamed at her daughter “don’t look back here! Don’t look!.” I totally did not realize her kid was in the car and probably heard me mention Christmas gifts. |
Just an opinion and not weird. I think it's weird that 6th grade is in MS. And my comment was in response to another comment, who cares if 5th and 6th graders want to believe in santa? What's the big deal? |
I’m sorry. There is no way an intelligent, neurotypical child believe until he was 12. He played along for you. Kids had school had told him the truth years earlier. |
Why does everyone here on dcum pull the neurotypical card when a kid, slightly older, does kid stuff? |
|
We’ve never done elf on a shelf and we never will.
Both kids asked at 4 if Santa was real and we told the truth. So they’ve never “really” believed. We still fill stockings and have gifts from Santa under the tree - we have all the fun and the surprise, they just know it’s us. They still love it. I can promise you the Christmas morning excitement is not dampened a bit by not believing someone snuck into our house at night to leave presents. |
Where I live 4th grade is in middle school. Please write a letter to my school system noting your objections. |
4th grade? That's crazy. |
I'll pass along your objections. |
| Never fell for the Elf on Shelf trap. Just one more thing to do |
I can't have an opinion? Why do think my opinion is wrong? |
I think it's weird you care how schools systems across the country from you set up their grade levels. Get a life? |
What, someone brought it up and I commented. I don't really care, it's not something I'd want for my child, but you do you. |
It's weird that you care so much about my opinion. |
This - kids aren't stupid. They know the elf is not real and they play along. |
Our school system has lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school. |
