Long socks or even light thermal legwear
That was what I disliked about skinny jeans. Impossible to layer under them and they weren't really that warm by themselves. |
Me too. I think people who grew up wearing skinny jeans just don't understand wearing socks that are longer than ankle length. As a Gen X woman, I never understood how to keep my ankles warm in skinny jeans. I think wide leg is much warmer cause I can wear real socks with calf height boots. |
| I wear wide legged pants, flares whether they are in style or not. In the winter, I'll wear merino wool leggings. In the shoulder season, merino wool 3/4 leggings or boy shorts. |
| You can bury this millennial in my skinny jeans: I do not care. I am a 5’3 hourglass, size 8, and these wide-legged mom jeans do nothing for me. |

I don't care what other people wear but skinny jeans never kept me warm. I like that with other jean styles I can get something in a thicker denim that actually cuts wind and creates a barrier if I sit down on a bench outside.
I also love the corduroy is very in right now -- it's such a great weight for winter and you can find it in slim, straight, wide, even barrel styles. I bought a wide leg black pair last year that I wear a lot and this year I'm going to get them in a camel brown straight pair. I have found they are especially easy to dress up or down -- they read as rich and velvety with a nice blouse but you can also throw on a t shirt or sweater and it's casual. |
