Top FCPS (Langley/McLean/Oakton) vs Top MCPS (Whitman, Wootoon)

It's even more than the boundary change. FCPS is not a good school system and has so many issues-teachers are constantly leaving the county and the parents I know are always unhappy with their schools-even Langley.

McLean and Oakton are happier places than Langley. Langley suffers from too many parents who pay top dollar and expect it to be the “very best” - only to discover it’s another large public school. It also has a lot of hyper-conservative parents who find fault with everything FCPS does and make administrators’ lives miserable. The principal there just announced she was leaving.

We were very happy with our non-Langley school in FCPS and our kids were well prepared for college.

I am the parent of two teens; both in FCPS schools. I agree with PP.

The rapid turnover of teachers and flight of experienced educators is alarming. It did not used to be this way.

Avoid FCPS if at all possible.
