Going TO to selective colleges is fairly common. You just have to have a strong GPA and ECs to offset the TO pathway.
If you have a few Bs or weaker rigor, you need to submit a high SAT/ACT as a counter weight. |
Agree with this. Also if a selective college and TO, you are definitely compared to your peers from your HS. |

Duke AO said not submitting test scores WILL NOT hurt the application. They haven't their published their CDS in a while either.... Also, their scoring rubric has changed. |
| Just don't hold back actual good scores. A 1450 is a really, really good result. Use it. That way the school averages will reflect reality and not just the kids with 99th percentile results. |

Whether a 1450 is a good score completely depends on the school you are coming from and the you are applying to. A 1450 from a school with UMC kids is not competitive for most T20 schools, and would not bolster the student's application. |
From that list, UMiami and Cornell are no longer test optional. They require scores for next fall's admission season. |
