There are plenty of legit reasons to dislike him and make fun of him. The name stuff is in poor taste.

People who will vote for him are voting not necessarily voting for him as an individual, but for the policy positions he represents. Those positions appeal to many voters, thus the very close presidential contest. Cao may lose his specific race, but only as a reflection of the proclivities of those localized voters eligible to vote in that contest.
