It's on my to-see list. What's with all the negative vibes here? Lots of people like dark movies. If you don't, then move along. |
I think when I posted (OP here) I must have just timed it badly and hit the Bachelorette-watching crowd. |
So rude. None of the prior responses summed up what the plot is. ![]() |
Try reading again. WIKI or the TRAILER. |
Tech billionaires invite women to an island and do exactly what you think men do to women on islands. |
Damn she’s engaged to Channing Tatum? |
Trigger warning- There is a brief but definitely significant scene where the women are bound and gagged on the floor while one of the men was on top of them trusting. It’s not a clockwork orange level of graphic but it definitely deserves its R rating and its not one for a person traumatised by sexual violence to go in to lightly. |
I will download it when it comes onto streaming, but I think I'm over the big screen viewings. Glad to hear you liked it though! |
Trailer:
I don't know why OP or someone couldn't have just posted this instead of being rude and snarky -- sure people can google it but also if you want people to talk about a movie you've seen and they haven't you might meet them halfway. Anyway like others I think I'm going to skip this one even though it looks pretty good. Agree I get very strong Get Out vibes from it (specifically the "this seems great but turns out it's evil" thing and also the specific power dynamics). But I'm already a feminist who who will probably agree with the underlying points in the movie so I don't need to learn something here and I think the content could be really upsetting. But glad others are liking it and it's getting buzz. |
Bump |
If it has to be seen on a big screen, it cannot be excellent. |
I don't think you understand the concept of "cinematography" |
I just watched this movie last night.
It's very good. **********Spoiler alert*************† The main character seems to have a very psychotic desire hersey for power by proximity to the wealthy white men at the top of the pyramid. It would be a punishment for most to be in such close proximity to the Channing Tatum character. |
This is a perfect example of how psycho wealthy men apologize for their crimes and get into rehab.

I have seen it and really enjoyed it! I thought it was a mature and original movie. It reminded me of Midsommer in terms of concept and horror. |
