Really wish I could go back and teach. The salary is one thing but I have a degree in eduction and cert expired. The website alone to figure out how to be application ready is a nightmare |
| Teaching just isn't respected and it shows in society with the crime and corruption that permeates our schools and throughout society. Education is suppose to mitigate this anarchy but in today's society it's easy to blame and scold teachers than critique litigious parents. |
Look up the percentages of prisoners that are dyslexic and/or functionally illiterate. Schools don't serve dyslexic kids well at all. |
You bet, and no frigging computers. Real books, real learning. 40 kids in every class in the 60s and 70s. Yet now with half that number the kids are illiterate and can't handle simple algebra. The kid cries in class and mommy and daddy come rushing to the school to blame everyone but themselves. |
Look at the behavior of teachers, particularly over the last decade, and you'll understand why. |
