| My second grader's lunch is at 10:30am. |
Take off the tinfoil hat. |
| I teach kindergarten and we have breakfast at 8am and lunch at 10am! |
Yes. It’s free to all. |

Ugh, my kid had that in 4th grade. In middle school, at least it's kind of near the middle of their day - my now 8th grader starts at 7:30 and ends at 2:30, so 10:30 is 3 hours into a 7-hour day (hislunch this year is at 11, which is fine). In 4th, he started at 9:30, had lunch an hour later, and then didn't get home on the bus until 5. Thankfully their teacher let them all have a snack in the afternoon.
It's all about scheduling way overcrowded schools through a small lunchroom. Even with this crazy schedule, my kids insist on taking lunch purely because the lunch line is so long that they wouldn't get food until the lunch break was just about over. They need to increase the lunch line throughput in order to consolidate lunch times. |
Which middle school has 2000 kids?! |
Have you voted differently or protested the ridiculously large student population size in our schools? If not, enjoy your breakfast time lunch. You can call it brunch. |
News blackout? See recent media on electric school bus cost. |
| Some middle schoolers catch the bus at 6:30 so breakfast at 6 and then they are starving by 10:30. |
That’s what happens with cereals and processed carbs, yes |
Don’t forget the rampant over-development. High density housing on every available plot of land. Giveaways to developers, who are making boat loads of money at the expense of the middle class families. |
Tale as old as time. Your 6th grader will survive like we all did. Eat light breakfast. Pack bigger lunch with snack for after school It's going to be ok! |
| Eastern parent here. My daughter had the 10:17 lunch last year and she survived. Kids can bring snacks and eat at some point later in the day. |
| Our kindergarten lunch is at 1pm….. |
| If posters could share schools as well, that would be very appreciated. Thanks! |
