There are so many first time homebuyer programs in blue states especially and that’s actually what has driven up demand and prices.

We need to lower demand to make prices more stable

OP, Harris' mom was a single mother who had to scrimp and save to afford her first home when Harris was a teen. Harris doesn't want others to go through what her mom did (or you did). It's ok for life to get easier in small ways or for future generations to suffer hardship less.

As a single mother, currently working THREE jobs, I don’t want my kids to suffer the way I, and others have. I don’t know if this particular plan is a good idea, but I am all for helping first time home buyers and people with student loans. Even though I am neither.

This proposal is literally the perfect example of inflation. Government injects “free” money into the economy; result is all prices go up.

Plus, now you have people buying houses who cannot afford them.
