I pretty much only buy beauty products now. The past couple of years, the clothing I've tried felt very "made for the sale" and not the usual quality (happened with Mother jeans and a Barbour jacket last year).

I needed some belt refreshes so got a black belt, tan belt, that polo dress that everyone seems to have on their list, a pair of UGGs to replace 10 yr old ones, some nice black heels for professional events, and some new tennis shoes for my husband. Saved hundreds of dollars on things we would’ve bought anyway – score.

I've been pretty disappointed. I had two pairs of AG jeans on my list and one was sold out before the sale opened to regular cardholders at midnight.
I got some zella joggers, hair products, some workout tops. Agree with PP that most of the clothes (other than jeans) seemed cheap the last few years so I didn't bother with any tops/sweaters.

Yeah, I liked the look of a dress in the OP and clicked and it is a Nordstrom Rack thing.

I did a brief stint in retail and our January clearance sale racks were full of trash that was never out on the floor of our store at all. It was all of the corporate buyer's mistakes -- they would ship them to the stores specifically for the sale and we'd put them out on the racks, orange sticker and all, so they looked like they'd been marked down when they were never for sale in the store in the first place.

I have always thought of the Nordstrom sale as different, and it is, but it does bear some similarities -- case in point, Nordstram Rack stuff. I know people swear by Nordstrom rack, but I have trouble finding stuff there and the last time I did find something it was an awesome pair of pink sweatpants ... that were so thin I couldn't wear them after one wash.

There are some door busters with the Nordstrom sale, but they sell out almost immediately to the VIPs (mainly influencers) who get early access to the sale.

I agree. It's either very limited, made for the sale, or going out of style if not already out of style..
