Have you looked at the Posse Foundation? They provide significant scholarships to top schools, and send a group (posse) together. The mission is to catch kids who might be overlooked in the traditional application process and support them through college.
The kid you are describing sounds like they could be a good candidate for this program. |
| If you do Questbridge, look at Emory. They have a long history of taking a good number of Questbridge kids, so there is likely to be more community and support than at other schools. |

OP, target no-loan schools. These are the wealthier ones who will give more $ specifically so your student doesn’t have to graduate with debt. Grinnell is definitely a good one.
https://www.usnews.com/education/best-colleges/paying-for-college/articles/schools-that-meet-full-financial-need-with-no-loans Do not listen to what people on here say. My kid had a serious medical crises in 10th grade, got a some Cs, then did great junior and senior year, and we were surprised by some of the schools she got into. I agree that a formal program like questbridge could help if you’re kid is eligible. Wishing you good luck! |
| Trinity College in TX is known for being very generous. |
This is very helpful and really compliments the research I have on meet-full-need schools and net debt by income. Thank you! |
