We're on a relatively large team (200+ swimmers). Here's what has been done to maximize swims but keep B meet lengths reasonable.
-Two of the five meets are intrasquad at the home pool. Meets start at 5:30 and are generally done by 7:30 plus no travel time since it's home. -Entry rules- 3 strokes + IM but you can't swim any events swum at the previous A meet. This helps spread out opportunities. -Pre-seed just like for an A meet and no deck seeding -CJs! Ideally one for each end of the pool -3 people on the automation team although this wouldn't hold the meet up. It does mean the automation team is able to finish at a reasonable hour as do the ribbon writers since they get the award labels pretty quickly |

This is not a MCSL rule. We are part of MCSL, and our B meet last week ended at 9:45pm. |
During A meets the announcers state names before each heat. During the B meets they say the names while the kids are swimming. This saves some time. |
This is only our third year on our team but it has been the exception rather than the rule about the announcer giving kids names. Our announcer does not do it so we were surprised that it happened. |
No names at B meets for us - that would take forever. |
I was the poster who said our B meet ended really late. The announcer announced all the swimmers’ names BEFORE they swim. |
