Are Principals, Assistant Principals ALLOWED to advocate?

MCPS funds one FT Secretary per school just to deal with these antiquated paper time sheets. The principal even signs each one by hand! When I started in MCPS last year I literally LOLed when they told us we had paper time sheets. I let everyone in the room know I hadn’t filled out a time sheet since I worked in fast food 20 years ago.

MCEA has advocated for years to get rid of these paper time sheets but McPS always has excuses why their online system isn’t ready yet

I would go in every day at 6 am and was forcwed to write 730 am. I would leave late in the evening and was forced to write 4pm. I worked 10-15 hours on the weekend that could be verified with online time stamps and was foeced to say i was off and did my grading for leisure. The system will not get better and sustainable if we as adults are forbidden to report data accurately.

Because they CHOOSE not to use the $ on tech upgrades because they need it for settlements? Do I get a prize?

Because MCPS doesn't want to lose a low paid position? Tech upgrade would cost more? Do I also win a prize?

I think its so when bully admin clean house of their teachers they can make up their stories but when we have to plead our case with real data the system handicaps us. Ce la vie in mcps!
