WTF happened to Sam's Club?

Self checkout is not the same as scan and go.
At Sam’s -you can scan it when you put it in cart, then swipe to checkout, then walk under a camera to leave

I have their premium membership and truly regret it. They have increased the amount you must purchase to get free shipping. And, in the past month they have screwed up everything I have delivered. I have to go to the club to get it reconciled every time. My last HUGE order was screwed up and I called them and waited for 30 minutes until they hung up on me. I called again and the lady told me that I was purchasing too much and INTENTIONALLY hung up by on me. I will never renew a membership of any kind and purchases are only in store until membership expires!!!

Sam's is owned by the same company as Walmart and is therefore run the same way as Walmarts. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Walmarts are the worst, so is Sam's.

Sam's club is the only place in my entire state that offers FluMist so I go in once a year just for that. It looks the same as Costco to me.

You are not the boss of them

Surprising since it is part of that much-vaunted higher productivity public sector.

I haven’t been to a Sam’s in a while, but my father insists on it. He says they are more office and business oriented in terms of products. I guess I can see his point somewhat. Costco clearly goes after upper middle class.

The scan and go is a game changer. I don't buy produce there but some things are cheaper than Costco:

Kerrygold butter
Babybel cheese
Rao's sauce
Duraflame logs
firewood
toilet paper

I've bought their lamb chops and liked them. Same price as costco. $12.99 pound vs $17.99 at Trader Joe's.

Why are you worried about this? They may not have access to fresh clean water for at least part of their day. Why begrudge them this purchase?

I’m a basic white lady buying canned seltzer by the case. Hard to argue that’s good for the planet but nobody’s posting about me on here.

Microplastics. Drinking that much microplastic-tinged water is a terrible idea.

Buying a cheap stainless steel water jug from the Walmart camping section and bringing water from home is a good idea. For both of you - your cans are leaching the chemical that replaced BPA

It’s the Costco for the people trump is deporting

Complaining that no one is there us hilarious. You prefer the daily mob at Costco? I love going to Sams as it's much more relaxing and easy.

What i like about Sams is that you can get the basics. As much as I like the unique products at Costco, sometimes I don't want the acai berry, kale, almond flour Oreos. Sometimes I just want Oreos.

Scan and go is the only reason I have sams club. Using an app to purchase my items and never having to interact with anyone is wonderful. Wegmans had that feature during g the pandemic and I lived it. Wegmans got rid of it due to shrinkage but sams club seems to have it working. At my sams club you walk through a scanner at exit (like amazon shop).
