Tufts acceptance rate for ED1and ED2 is around 35%. Emory and WashU ED1 is around 35%, but when including ED2 ...for WashU its 26%, Emory is 20%. |
Where is this information from? |
I don’t think it is correct. They are all around 35 percent for ED1. |
Vandy is hard from public. Much easier from private school with a slightly lower gpa. |
I can’t find my sources but when I was looking last year they all had combined ED1/ED2 of about 25%…I assumed that meant approximately ED1 of 30% and ED2 of 30% (roughly). |
| I think WashU looks for students who want to attend. I’d definitely visit, articulate why it’s a good fit in the application, and apply ED1. |
You don’t have to assume, the info is publicly available. For Emory, ED1 has been 32, 37 and 38 percent over the past three cycles (most recent first). Wash U was 35 percent for class of 2027. |

For Emory, less than half of the applicants submit an SAT score. Your SAT score is almost at the 50th percentile.
Phenomenal chance ED, great chance RD. Sometimes I think posters here don't realize the CDS gives such clarity. |
Bottom quartile is 720V and 750M so 1480 is just over 25th percentile, not near 50th…still, the fact that a high percentage don’t submit is helpful. |
But the irony is that it’s in a great, fun location. EDing there is a way to arbitrage people’s ignorance about geography. |
| Test optional has really inflated these test scores. Emory with a 1480 25th range is absurd |
Has anyone here seen both one of these three schools and also Case Western, Rochester and maybe some other comparable, less trendy schools? If so, what do think about the OP’s DC applying to Case Western or Rochester instead of the three listed? I think of Rochester as being like Wash. U. without the admissions hassles, but I’ve never actually seen it. |
| OP here- Rochester is on DC’s list (not for ED though)… |
You do realize the 50th percentile SAT score at Emory is 1500? |
| Emory's admitted student 25th percentile is 1470 so ED (aka enrolled students) will be a bit lower. |
