UMD revision/warning

Don’t sweat it.

I know a 20 year old who failed senior year of high school, dropped out after Christmas, worked a string of food service and retail jobs while she got her GED, and is headed to a SLAC this fall like she graduated on time at the top of her class.

No one really cares about senior year. Even a rescind is likely only temporary.

I hope so? Conduct needs to be pretty bad for a suspension.

Talk to your college counselor and see if the suspension will show up on the transcript (they usually don’t). Then check the college’s policy on reporting discipline. Most schools have backed off strict policies about discipline. It varies, but some only require reporting ethical (cheating) and criminal incidents. If a kid got suspended for participating in the senior prank or whatever (assuming it wasn’t criminal), they’re probably fine.

Not criminal. Just really stupid and juvenile.

Do schools suspend for stupid and juvenile? I think we usually see schools trying really hard to avoid suspension, even for really hurtful incidents.

If they're imposing an actual transcript-worthy penalty, that suggests to me that the student really crossed a firm line in an institution where most lines are squidgy.

My DD's school (UC) says you have to maintain a B average for the year.
