Price for new doorframe and new door

Anonymous
People are citing prices for high-end doors. You can get a door installed from Home Depot for under $500. I don't know about the frame.

DP. Do you mind telling us where you got the door and which company is installing it? My house desperately needs a new front door, too.

A few years ago, pre covid, I had an estimate for fiberglass Provia door and sidelites and transom. It was north of $10k.

Is that all the work they did?

That sounds like a rip off.
NP. But, I’ve had 3 estimates and they are all around $10k. New framing, new side window lights, plus new door. That includes the install.

Was this on a townhouse?

Or a multimillion dollar single family?

Two different things. I am interested in prices for townhomes.

Doors are doors, friend.

I’m work for a window and door company and to anyone saying go to Home Depot to buy a $500-$2000 door …. Just remember you get what you pay for …
The difference between a Home Depot door and a Provia door is like the difference between a meal from McDonalds compared to a nice steak dinner.

The quality is unmatched
Most standard door panels will range 10k
If you have sidelights and a transom that could be upwards of 20k before the promotional discounts
