One of my favorite memories! My kiddo LOVED Bingo night.

Too many to list but a few highlights include:

* The lively brawl at a football game.
* The long lines at the school bathroom.
* Never having a reading group in ES.

My DS's K teacher brought in eggs/ducks for the kids to see hatch. Highlight of his memories of his time at MCPS.

International Night at ES. Families really got in to it and we sampled interesting food from many countries.

ES in general. All the fun events and great community built between the school and PTA and the enthusiastic kids.

Same here.
Our ES was great.
We had the international night every year, and the science fair, and the geography bowl, and the choir recital, and the spelling bee, and multiple field trips and the PE thing at the end of the year, and many other events.

My own best memory, though, is kindergarten plush toy share. For whatever reason, the class's toy bear, Mr Cuddles, or whatever his name was, was given to each kid to take home for a night or two and then was to be returned and passed along to another kid. Not sure what the point was (community building?) but I thought it was cute DC was sooo excited to have the old rugged bear for the night.. oh those were the days!

Reading to 2nd graders.

So sad that MS doesn't welcome parent volunteers/tutors in class.

I miss early elementary, when they let us volunteer regularly in the classroom.
