Real Talk - are MCPS schools safe anymore?

Violence can happen to your child anywhere, even private schools - that’s true. Just look at what happened in Nashville last year. It seems toxic TikTok culture and seedy online breeding grounds have been massive fuel on the fire of our poor children breaking down mentally because they have been so utterly confused by our benevolent government overlords

MCPS has like 160,000 students a day.

RW nutjobs are gas lighting. Just like they did in Loudoun County. How did that work out for those folks? Badly they got Youngkin the criminal and the RW lawsuits are all dismissed or thrown out. I think there might be one left it will go no where.

People need to wake up to the insanity of the religious right. They have planned. this for over 20 years. They know what they are doing and you all fall for it hook line and sinker til it's too late.

Does MCPS have challenges of course, but the fear-mongering is over the top absurdity.

Safe is a relative term. There are lots of issues with safety. Two bomb threats today.

No, they are absolutely not safe. Anyone who tells you otherwise has an agenda to preserve the status quo, which is usually attached to MCPS's legacy brand and reputation.

The school shooter who was preemptively stopped was from a W school. And that same W school had a bomb threat today. And a kid at Walter Johnson was apprehended with a gun this school year.

The W schools are not, in fact, "still fine."

But that’s not what OP is asking. They’re asking about how safe MoCo schools are. I mean a possible mass shooter caught last week, and 2 bomb threats today. My kids are at Whitman but these things are heavy on my heart the last week….
