Meal Prep/Occasional Chef

You can add on meat to any of the lunch/dinner options. And by meat, I think it's chicken, but it's been a bit since I've had their meals. The chicken was very good. I also really liked their protein/energy balls.

Ooooh, not OP but thanks for posting. This looks amazing and worth it.

But I'm confused by the "and butcher" part, because I see only veg on their menu...

We get mighty meals delivered every week. Have loved them. I make food for the kids (they are going) and then DH and I eat mighty meals for dinners during the week because we are usually running to some sport or kid event.

I’ve seen one company called Meals by Chef Swole that delivers weekly locally.

I think there are people out there that will come and prep in your kitchen once a week and leave three or four meals. Probably have to find by word of mouth.

If you find the right person an afternoon nanny/house manager person could probably follow recipes and prep dinner. My friend used to have an afterschool nanny who was a college student who did this for them. She was great. My friend didn’t ask her to make things that were complicated but she chopped, etc… put things in crockpot and the like.

Anonymous wrote:Curious about this but I think you could get better bang for your buck by buying prepared meals. Just go to Wegmans and buy the family tray items. They have so many that you just have to heat for 30 minutes.

Or add in no prep meals like open a bag of salad and a rotisserie chicken, or make sandwiches with soup.

I feel like the chef idea is for people who want to appear fancy. If eating healthy and quick is your goal there are better options.

Sorry. Prepared meals from grocery stores are unhealthy. I can’t believe you are suggesting something like this.
Eating it once in a while is ok, but making it your daily meal is bad.

Wegmans has some things I’ll call semiprepared, like raw fish that’s been seasoned with veggies and a sauce. All you do is pop in oven. It’s relatively healthy.

We use Cook Unity every week and it is great. So much variety to choose from including healthy options and most meals we have gotten from them have been very good. We have used other meal delivery services in the past and Cook Unity has been the best.

OP here. Thank you for the responses. We live in 20016. I will check on the recommendations here. I knew I could not be the only one with this thought.

Because its full of preservatives, too much salt, added sugar, MSG, etc. Wegman's and Trader Joe's aint making prepared meals from scratch.

Not trader joes, but I do think the Wegmans and Whole Food meals are equal health as you would hire a chef to make.

I don't think so- they have a lot of salt,

It would have to be a very skilled chef to make meals that are both healthy and tasty.

Vegetable +Butcher has a variety of meats if you choose the non-vegan option. I’ve had meals with lamb, beef, and pork as well as chicken. I think it’s a fantastic service for anyone looking to add more healthy meals to their diet. The vegetables are always fresh and they have really interesting recipes. That being said, my DH and kids staged a mutiny after a few weeks of occasional meals. DH said they were all starting to taste the same (especially the breakfast options) and that they were “aggressively healthy”. I still get them from time to time.
