Independent School Teacher Salary?

I'm making 90k at a private in the Midwest. It's a 30% pay cut from public and I'm no longer contributing to my pension (will still get pension, it'll just be less than if I'd stayed there till retirement). I also contribute to a 401k now and get matching. Plus, I save in a private IRA. My state used to reduce social security benefits from those who collected a pension, but that law just changed, so I'll collect that from all my years of side jobs.

I work 40 hours instead of 60 because I have a fabulous TA who helps tremendously. Overall, I love private. But don't believe for a second that the quality of teachers is better in private. Most teachers at my school are former public teachers. And private schools spend inordinate amounts of time and money on SPIN and that presents things exactly the way it is intended.
