And I bet they do take extra payments to get people off the list. There is no transparency of where you are on the list. I'm also on the list at Palisades and they use the same software. I can clearly see where I stand on the list.

No they don't. Unlike most MOCO community pools, Mohican is mainly restricted by boundaries with a few out-of-boundary members grandfathered in. The membership is actually relatively small hence the long waitlist. Temporary membership are easier to get but they are also limited. Why? Because the County puts a cap on the number of occupants of every pool. That's life.

IIRC, memberships transfer immediately upon the sale of a house in the catchment zone? That is, if you buy a house from a current Mohican member within the boundaries the new home owner has the option of immediately taking over that membership. Hence why the waitlist moves so slowly.

I don't think this is true anymore for any pools in the area. I haven't seen this on any listings, and theyd be sure to highlight it.

Absolutely there is not.

Uh, that is literally EXACTLY what we did when we moved here (we live on lower Walhonding past the curve). We asked about the pool, found out there was a wait list, and about 5 minutes and two phone calls later we were members. Done. Money talks, hon.
