Point taken. I meant that our family was well off and my parents only attended our annual school dinner if either myself or one my siblings was part of the school choir performance (which was a thing at my school gala in the 90s.) I only meant that OP shouldn’t think too much abort financial status as an indicator of attendance, but I totally get why they would. There’s a big difference between affording a few hundred dollars worth of tickets once a year compared to 50k tuition for multiple kids.
