F. that is one of the worst books I've ever read. It's terrible. Emperor's new clothes. |
All the President’s Men |
I didn’t actually love Yellowface, but everyone else did, and it is set in DC. |
A very divisive book. I didn’t love it, either, but I did find it thought-provoking and am glad I read it. In terms of DC flavor, it’s particularly good if you know/care about Georgetown. |
Yes, this one. It’s actual DC versus Washington. Very very good. |
Same. Also a great movie. |
Yeah, that was not a good book. |
"Ciao America," by Beppe Severgnini was hilarious. Non-fiction, memiore about his year living in Georgetown. I can't drive along Rockville Pike without thinking about mattresses now. |
I picked this up based on this thread. It is wonderful so far. |
Wow I had totally forgotten about this book until now! I also loved it. It was hilarious. |
Gore Vidal, Lincoln. |
Others already mentioned it, but absolutely Lost in the City by Edward P. Jones.
It's one of the books mentioned here, along with a few other good recommendations: https://offtherecordtours.com/best-books-about-washington-dc/ |
This is a great one because it is set in DC but not about politics (so the real DC that most residents inhabit who don't work on the Hill etc). |
The answer is Heartburn by Nora Ephron |
lol! those were the days! |
