Why is it sad? No, families are too busy working and don’t have the itty bitty details about the life and times of Jesus Christ or other prophets . They know how it began and how it ended but that’s pretty much it.

For OP’s question, I would look at the Infancy Gospel of Thomas . It’s specifically about Jesus’ childhood from ages 5-12.
