Dehumanize--just used to convey "I don't like what is happening to me or what someone thinks of me" but the bigger picture is lost, given that the word implies others are involved and they are not invited to tell their side of the story.

Ha, when I clerked 25 years ago, this was a pet peeve of the judge. Also stated for said. He gave me a book that listed words and their simpler counterparts. Still have it!
