What is Cleveland, OH like?

I just returned from a weekend in Strongsville for DH's HS reunion. It sucks---unless you like mullets, smokers and Dunkin Donuts.

Hilariously, pp! Thanks for posting!
I used to work at Cleveland Legal Aid on West 6th St when the area really was a warehouse district. It was strange to go back last year and see all the restaurants on West 6th (those described as being for the douchebags) surrounding Legal Aid.

that you tube video is hysterical--could be true of Buffalo too

I was just in Cleveland this weekend. My husband grew up there and I went to law school there. I'm from Cincinnati. I HATED Cleveland. I read in Rand McNally that Cleveland has the second least amount of sunshine each year of any place in the country...Buffalo has the least.

The weather stunk in Cleveland. It was only nice about 6 weeks out of the year. I developed SAD in Cleveburg (seasonal affective disorder). I had to move back to DC or I would have lost my mind. The people are nice but some have a really terrible lake effect nasal accent. I get chills thinking about my 4 years living there. I thank God every single day I'm not there anymore. It's really quite awful. And it looks like someone has a third world war there...sadly the economy has suffered a lot and there are a lot of abandoned homes.

I spent quite a bit of time there for work and my impression was of a very depressed city with a lot of empty storefronts and offices. And most of the people are really overweight. The suburbs may be nicer though.

This video is better, a little more polished, and I think that's the bridge my great grandfather used to live under.

By coincidence my bro (now in South Carolina) posted this on Facebook today. Another "have a laugh on Cleveland" that we ex-Clevelanders enjoy so much. As Alex Bevan once wrote, where else do you have "a Tower that is Terminal over a Lake that is Eerie (Erie)"?

Ha! I love this critical post from someone from CINCINNATI. Shit hole of city that is, you have no room to criticize. Additionally, nearly ALL the things you criticize Cleveland for apply equally -if not more so- to Cincinnati.

Are you from Buffalo--does Buffalo have charm?

No. I used to date someone from Buffalo, and I spent a lot of time in Cleveland on business trips. Frankly, I think they both suck--depressed old manufacturing towns. Just trying to be funny.
