Neighbor points security camera at our front door?

My neighbor used my footage when their car got broken into. Curse and blessing I guess

Tall potted plant can block the view, but a bush is better for blocking both sound and visual.

They have a ring doorbell camera as well that neighbors think they've used to record conversations in front of their building (a conversation between a delivery person and another neighbor that happened on their front walk). So I'm wondering if they might be recording us (or guests) talking on our porch? Am I being too paranoid?

Is it possible what you're seeing pointed toward your house is not a camera but a solar panel for their doorbell camera? The camera over my driveway has a solar panel that is about 15ft away from the camera, directly facing my neighbor's house as that's where the most direct light hits. From far away I can see someone thinking that other mounted thing is another camera.

And yes, they record sound.

many solar panels do resemble cameras ; thats true.

OP here, it is not a solar panel. It's quite clearly a white security camera with a black lens and it is definitely pointed at our entrance. It is not that far from our door (maybe 15 feet) so it's very clear to see what it is and where it is pointing.

These are row houses with no pass through between homes, so there is just no ostensible reason for the camera to be pointed in our direction.

+1 and just assume that you are always being recorded. When it comes to paranoid or "slightly off" neighbors, there may be no understanding their behavior, because it is not rationally based. Keep to yourself, don't engage, try to put up screening plants, and document rants if they post them online.

Lots of people will say you're making too much of it, but read Gavin de Becker's The Gift of Fear. If something makes you uneasy and feels off, trust it and be proactive. Putting up a plant and keeping an eye out on how the neighbor behaves isn't overreacting IMO.

Yeah, if something sets off your "this isn't right" radar, trust it.

I like the idea of a flag that will partly block the view
