Honestly, between $500-$800 a month would make a big difference.

House manager is a good idea. Lots of dual income families that are looking for someone that wants only a few hours a week, and in my area a house manager almost always makes over $30/hr, sometimes significantly more if you're efficient and good at the job. If you get two clients that want 6hr/week each then You're set. And it is a bit flexible.

Where do you live, OP? I’d hire you on the spot as a household manager and pay well!

Here’s an example have a list of things I need done:

- Take my car in to get the oil changed/ exterior/interior washed
- Figure out where do donate and then drop off the clothes and other stuff I have had sitting in my office for months
- Mail out packages to various people
- grocery shop
- Hire and manage various contractors for odd jobs around the house
- Plan out vacations/travel
- organize kid clothes that no longer fit
- dry cleaning drop off and pickup

What about working for a company that provides gig economy-like services? You wouldn’t have to find the gigs yourself and could enjoy flexibility. Places like Naborforce or Papa or Care.com let you do this for elder care and the like.

Adult care jobs. There is big demand where you go in and fix a breakfast and lunch for the seniors then leave at 2:00 or 2:30.

Pay is running $31 - $32 per hour

Drive Uber. When you want to work, you flip on the app. When you don't, you flip it off. You can work any time day or night, as much as you want.

What’s your professional background and skill set? I have a part-time work from home job opening (small business), I think those hours might work for us.

This is a good option for OP. BUT...these seniors often have medical appointments they need assistance getting to and if OP can't take them due to her schedule they won't ask for her anymore.

I have a BFA and I am the owner and designer of small handmade business, however the business is revenue neutral until Q4 every year. Before I had kids I would supplement the business income with other work to provide consistent income. I worked for years as a bar manager and then as a manager and wine buyer for a small market.
