Sydney Sweeney - why isn’t she more famous?

It's her boobs.

Agree. In Anyone But You, they took up half the screen in every scene she was in. I remember commenting about it while watching. If you have to do that, your acting isn't that great.

She’s not particularly attractive or remarkable, and she looks older than she is…like she just always looks tired. She’s basically what Billie Eilish will look like at 40

I think trashy is a bit strong but overall the gist of this is right, I think. There're a grillion new beautiful young blonde actresses every year. To make herself stand out (and take advantage of a standout asset) she has been topless a lot, but that means that's what people think of when they think of her. I've seen her in a bunch of stuff and I think she's a decently good actress but without the boobs she wouldn't be as booked as she is. It's a weird Catch-22 where the boobs often get her the roles but then nobody respects her for having her boobs on screen all the time, even though everyone wants to see them.

Most men would disagree with the attractive part

This weird booster crap again? Ugh, just stop.

Yep, you nailed it. Another PR-type post. The gushy language is always the giveaway, and the attitude that the "celeb" is somehow classic, iconic, etc.

Really wish there were a way for Jeff to flag and ax these posts. I suspect they're created by bots, which drop them into any chat board anywhere with "entertainment" in its title or focus. The fact that they're always about "celebs" who need a boost or need re-boosting after the media's grown tired of them is so obvious, too. Harry and Meghan, assorted Kardashians, the Hadid model, etc.

She’s hot for someone you would know irl, but she’s not movie star hot. I’m genuinely surprised she got the lead in something that was shown in theaters

I can't think of another actress who looks better with her top off. It's like they took the perfect set of boobs and put her on the girl next door. To me, that's shallow perfection.

I only know her from Anyone But You, which I was surprised how much I liked. I laughed out loud, multiple times (though there was also some cringe moments, and absurdities but whatever . . . . )

She's tiny with big boobs. I didn't actually find her that pretty (though she's younger and prettier than I am, but I'm not in Hollywood). She's kind of the basic, blond, 1970's Farrah pretty. For me, that's not my standard for beautiful. More importantly, I didn't think her acting was great. But maybe it was the rom-com role. I haven't seen her in anything else.

Farrah was iconic - it’s why you know her by her first name only even after she died

But that’s the point

While Farrah is hotter than Sydney, I’m surprised she’s not this generations Farrah.

I’m a generation after Farrah fawcett’s prime and I still know her

You are probably right that SS acting talent is horrible

I think she’s pretty famous. I haven’t seen the new movie but I know her from Euphoria, Handmaids tale , and the white lotus. I think she’s been nominated for Emmys a couple times.

TV actors are not, by definition, “famous.” Especially given the dilution of programming.

She has nice, full, round tits. That is about it.

Sydney is sexy but lacks Farrah's warmth, charm, and femininity. That dilutes her sex appeal.

Doesn't have the same charisma either. Farrah had that "it" factor.

Sarah was iconic for being what was allowed to be iconic at the time. There was not a lot of representation in the 70s. And in any event, I never thought she was that pretty, tbh, though I am in a minority.

To be fair, we also know her by her first name because there are very few other Farrahs. If Michael Jackson's name had been Perceval, we would all know him as Perceval. Since his name was Michael, we need the last name to distinguish him from the million other Michaels in the entertainment industry. It doesn't make him less iconic.

Well, they're teenagers, and she's a nearly 30 year old woman.
