There is only one math specialist at CBES - I think? So this should be removed. |
Current MVCS parents here. It’s a fabulous school with an awesome parent community and the new principal is well-respected and liked (she’s the former ACPS dual language curriculum person). It’s a diverse community, and has an extremely active PTA with seemingly an event every month or so. They try to celebrate different cultures and heritages. I love that it’s not just learning Spanish but it’s learning cultural competency. There’s a lot of involved parents. The school itself has a nice caring culture.
We had a child complete the dual language program who had many more years of Spanish before Covid. That child loved languages, and really embraced it. Our second child was younger and has struggled with the Spanish, however they are doing well academically and the Spanish is improving. I think the curriculum/program will only get stronger under the new principal. |
Also, to address some other comments, the building issues MVCS have seem to be rectified with a hard press from the PTA to ACPS.
And the comment about the influx from Arlandria— the MVCS student demographic population has maintained roughly the same for years. It’s roughly 60% Hispanic and has been for years. |
how did they do that? |
