Summer road trip - North and South Dakota

I haven’t been to ND but if I did, I would stop in Grand Forks and visit the Molly Yeh restaurant out of curiosity. It might be on the MN side of the river, idk.

SD I have visited and I was kind of shocked by the black hills. Truly magnificent and could’ve easily spent more time there.

Then off to Fargo and Theodore Roosevelt national park, mt Rushmore, Custer state park, jewel cave national park, wind cave National park and the badlands. Then back to Minneapolis for the Renaissance festival and Minnesota state fair. The biggest state fair in the country.

This was in august. So much fun and fantastic memories.

Glad you had fun, but I think Texas and Iowa State Fairs trump Minnesota’s.

Np. Good to know but, so what? Thought it’s a bit of a weird response. It’s not like someone who’s doing drive through ND and SD can divert easily to Texas and even Iowa is also a bit out of a detour.

Signed, someone who has family in ND and has visited dozens of time.

That said, the buffalo are cool. Many places to see them.

These National Parks can be extremely dangerous, even deadly, I understand.

We did the helicopter over Mount Rushmore. Highly recommend.
