Needing organized soccer for kids to play in Summer is pretty funny
|
Yup |
| So from New York but had over 200 kids try out for super Y. (11 year olds). The kids to make it were EDP gold players kind of a conglomerate of some of the best from each team (from who I recognize) so competition should be solid. Training environment too. |
Some kids like soccer enough that they want to play all year 'round. Some don't. You be you, boo. |
| Fx union teams already decided— the players who got super y invites are the only serious ones they will consider. We were told 2012 super y team will only concise of the girls who make ECNL. |
| Parent of younger child here and I'm confused. Is Super Y some prestigious thing, or just something optional that we should not feel bad about skipping? My child plays on top team and has been invited to join the team for their age group. My child isn't super excited about playing games in the July heat; and we like to go out of town a lot in summer. Will it be viewed negatively to skip Super Y? Child will play in U11 next year. |
| It's optional. It's casual summer league basically |
Which team is this? Majestics McLean? |
Who asks questions about makeup of super y roswhich. Of 11 year olds? Heliparents. That's who. |
| Edit. Rosters. |
Completely optional and fine to skip. |
That was before these major changes to the landscape. Definitely not the case now. Decision makers are not the same anymore. |
| Don't worry about skipping. It can be miserable - heat, thunderstorms. We've never done it and kids have been just fine. It is good to take a break and try other things or travel. |
| It depends on if the coach is good and of course if the team is winning vs losing throughout the season. One year went to the national championship in FL which was fun for the kids. The kids got out of school and it was a bonding experience for them. At the very least the kids active and getting touches throughout the summer. Because the roster is big, it was no problem taking vacations throughout the season. |
