Hot flashes are driving me crazy!

Anonymous
I came across NLM article saying 1/2 cup of soybeans (cooked) per day reduced hot flashes by something like 78% in control group. Im definitely going to try this. Much as I hate beans if it works it’s worth it! I am not a fan of HRT, studies are all over the place with whether or not it is safe. I am a research librarian so I am not a novice researcher, I understand about meta analysis etc but I don’t feel comfortable taking the risk.

I'm on the lowest dose of HRT and am having what I'd call "breakthrough" hot flashes. I would prefer not to up the does unless I really need it.

Does anyone take black cohosh AND HRT?

I tried black cohosh and it did nothing for me. YMMV on that. I'm going to talk to my doctor about HRT this month. I'm over all of this.

Are you in menopause, or peri?

I started getting hot flashes once I was on Tamoxofin for bc so HRT not an option.

Love hearing options

When I was on the patch, I sometimes would get night flashes if I had been drinking at dinner.
But not enough to up my dose. A cold gel pack under my pillowcase helped. Eventually these stopped as my body adjusted. I was in full menopause.

45 with full on sweaty hotflashes. They are worse when I drink caffeine but i can’t function without caffeine as I am dependent on it while raising young kids.

I think diet can help hotflashes to a degree.
