Have you never heard of freezing bread?

It’ll be 2 inches or less, would not anticipate a snow day based on current forecasts.

Probably no snow on Tuesday.

Possibly snow on Friday/Saturday.

We have to stop expecting big snow events in winter in this area, due to climate change. This was supposed to be a snowy winter due to the El Nino pattern, and we might still get snow in January, February and March... but overall, our snowy winters are behind us.

I’m a weather junkie who follows Jays Wintry Mix (he’s very knowledgeable). Not much is going to happen. Maybe a dusting.

I agree with you that our snow events are behind us but I disagree that El Niño meant a snowy winter - it meant a WET winter, and for us, winter moisture is no longer going to be accumulating snow but rain and maybe sleet.

OMG everything closes at 1/2 of snow here! I'm from Chicago and laugh. If it was 2 in here everything would shut down for sure! People don't even know how to drive in rain it's too funny.

The National Weather Service now says 2-4" total (Monday night through Tuesday) in my 20832 zip code (Olney).

Update:

Dusting or up to an inch TONIGHT (Sunday into Monday).

Then lull before main event of 1-3 (or 2-4) inches TOMORROW NIGHT.

Since DC hasn't seen accumulating snow in 2 years, and cold temperatures mean that every flake stays where it falls, there might indeed be disruptions to the Tuesday morning commute.

I would start preparing for 2 hour delays re: schools. They might want that in order to stagger traffic in the morning. Some weenie school systems might even close, so please mentally psyche yourself up to fume and vent at whatever decision your school system is going to come up with - bonus angry points if they make it at 5am Tuesday.

This. If there is even 1 inch during the morning commute, schools will close.

But why take that chance? We should go into lock down immediately. Maybe re-open after winter is over and strong winds and heavy rains of spring have died down.

Poor air quality can be a problem in the summer.

I stocked up on TP because my bidet doesn't work when the power is out.

2-hour delay? If it snows 2-3” schools in the DMV will straight up close.

APS has 14 snow days built into the calendar. If anyone even says the word snow Monday night or Tuesday morning they will close.

Hallelujah to that!

Hallelujah to climate change? What a depressing response.
