Elderly mom's credit card

Agree w/ the advice about having your mom get the 10k to you now. You can document that it's for her funeral expenses and anything remaining can/will be equally divided.

The credit card company may seek to recover monies from the estate so just ensure that there's no money there to get.

If your mom has a life insurance policy in which you are the beneficiary, the credit card company will ask you for that money.

They can “ask” for anything they want but life insurance payable to a designated beneficiary is not a part of the decedent’s estate.

They cant touch insurance money that has a beneficiary

Definitely prepay, much better that her money goes to taking that off your plate, than to Jamie Dimon's bonus.
