Disagree. She was the most popular and beloved woman in the world at the time of her death. I am the same age as Diana and the endless news coverage of the immense oupouring of grief were indications of how much the public loved her. Anyone who lived in DC and is old enough to remember the display of flowers, stuffed animals, etc. in front of the British Embassy will tell you the same. It went on for blocks. We were all shell-shocked when she died.

All this love happened AFTER she died. She still had supporters but was dragged weekly from royalist and tabloids before her death. She didn't hit that level of being beloved until after her death

Agree. The tabloids were basically calling her a floozy dragging the boys around to party with different men on yachts.

Do you think the monarchy will last that long? I think it died with the Queen.

No way. I don’t mind Kate but short of her being the POW she has none of Diana’s best qualities. No charisma whatsoever, doesn’t really seem to do much with her causes, and no fashion sense. But this is by design because she fits into the BRF much better than Diana did.

Let's not forget that she isn't a royal. Diana was. Kate is a commoner that much of Britain probably hates because she managed to land William despite not being worthy.

MM is more like Diana with love for attention and victimhood.

Kate is sooo boring. That might be what the British monarchy needs right now, but she won’t replace Diana as a global icon. It’s fine! She’s still the wife of a billionaire! But she’s not doing anything to become beloved outside of her country.

What nonsense is this?

Diana wasn't royal by birth either. She was a commoner, just like Kate. Her father was an earl, yes, but a royal is someone like Princess Beatrice. For Charles to marry a royal he'd have to marry one of the children or grandchildren of another monarch.

Diana's early death was a shock but it also came about at a timely moment.

Why should she? Which seems the appropriate way for her.

In time Princess Charlotte. She is already beginning to look like Diana and she has no baggage or scandal.
