The reason to hire someone and not do it yourself (if you can afford it) is to save the relationship between your child and yourself.
Our EF coach would kill me if I posted her info - just reach out to all of your friends. I promise you, there are some who's kids have EF coaches and you just don't know about it. That's how you get names of good and trusted people. |

| My biglaw partner ADHD Dh has an EF coach still 10 years into partnership |
| We use https://www.lifesolvedcoaching.com/ and like them. It's helpful and has really stopped the fighting between us and our teens with regards to homework for the most part and helps keep them on track. It's pricey, but worth it for us. |
| Does anyone have a recommendation for an EF coach in Fairfax, VA? Thank you in advance! |
This. I found someone when I realized that things couldn't continue as they have been, or my child is going to hate me, and we'll have no relationship in the future. I can't do nothing and watch them fail, but I can't be their executive functioning coach or tutor anymore, either. |
| Do any of you use online executive function coaching with your teens? |
| What do you mainly use executive functioning skill for? |
| We use Education Connections and it has been helpful for our high school freshman. They have helped to keep track of assignments and especially with big projects |
So you are saying EF coaches don’t actually teach the skills, but are secretaries for your kid? I’m not sure I see the benefit. What are we actually teaching the kids here? That they don’t need to have responsibility or management skills and EF coach to do that? ESPECIALLY if you have a boy and the coach is a woman, what are we showing these kids? |

We do the nightly debrief and daily briefing....or in other words, what happened today that needs to be done tonight, and we need to plan to do? Then morning of, what is plan for today? That helps a lot along with a planner, calendar, and help with the color and organization system. Does take more follow up and nagging than I'd like, but hopefully after 5th some will stick |
| I am in higher ed and someone said recently to me that the reason there was less ADHD previously was because men had wives who didn't work starting in their late teen or early 20s and female secretaries. Reading this thread confirms this is true. Needing a "coach" through college and professionally doesn't seem like the student is learning a whole lot during the "coaching". |
