Pro tip- don’t use “elite” when it is completely unnecessary as it is in this case. I know what you mean however it means nothing in this situation. Your kid loves the camp and has been going there for years that’s all we need to know about said camp.

As another person that sends their child to an 'elite' camp, she is using that terminology presumably because registration is only open for a short window and your spot will be gobbled up in a nano second if you don't claim it. Registration usually opens up about right now for next summer, so OP is in a bind. Or that is how I interpret it at least.
