My dad gets my mom the Book of the Month club subscriptions and my mom said the books have gotten pretty bad lately. And she reads anything. I think Politics and Prose has one that’s probably better but more expensive.

I got my mom an Aura picture frame that can be kept updated via app on my phone. Costco had the best price. Also got a snow depth gauge because they get a lot of snow where they are.
