Which area of Italy did your kids love?

| My then 6yo loved Rome— especially the Forum & Colosseum. He also loved the canals (& yes, the touristy gondola ride) in Venice. Big, dramatic buildings like cathedrals, etc. were a hit in general. And gelato. |

| What would be a good destination to pair with Venice in the fall (late October)? Say 3-4 days in each. We have similar age kids. Not another big city- we'll save Rome/Florence for another time. Thought about the Dolomites or Lake Garda but probably not the best time of year? |
