What temperature is too cold for an outdoor formal event? (No heaters)

And if you say, just wear a coat? I would be pissed if I went through the trouble to find a nice dress and accessories and then spent the evening covered up like the Michelin Man.

Is this a typo? 75 degrees is awfully warm. Most people’ winter thermostats are set way lower than 75 degrees.

NP and I have layers on inside, like a sweatshirt or a wearable blanket if I’m just hanging out in my house. If I have to look nice I want it to be in the 70s or higher for outdoor events. I can do 60s if I’m warned it’s outside.

How long are people expected to be outside?

It's November. You can do the indoors-outdoors thing, but people should be obviously welcome inside. What type of event are you thinking? What is the point?

It's November.

Why not just rent heaters?

OP, why was a formal November event even planned for outdoors in the first place?

+1 I can’t imagine planning a formal event in November without heaters! It’ll be in the 40s in the evening this weekend. Definitely move it inside!

My initial thought was also mid-60s. But I will say, I went for a walk Saturday morning when it was 45-55 and in the sun it was really nice and warm. Did OP say if it was a daytime event or evening? The threshhold would be significantly lower if it's a daytime event.

Mid 50's with warning to the guest that there will be no heating.

It doesn't matter as long as I have ample warning and you drop "formal."

People will stay much longer with a fire pit or heaters.
