DP... I agree that this teacher came off a little harsh, but I also think that no people should work for free. If it is not in the contract, we shouldn't expect them to work. |
| The School Board discussed this during the calendar meetings a while back. There was recognition that there would likely be a day off needed for the primary, but because they hadn't officially been requested to make schools available and the primary date wasn't 100% set, they didn't put it on the calendar. |
| I will still send my kids to school on March 5. |
Last I knew you could have up to ~20 days without having to make them up. |
| So now that March 5 is off, will that affect the A/B days or odd/even days designation after March 5? |
I am thinking about voting so a vote can go to someone other than the current GOP front runner. |
Do know that if you vote in this you will have it marked on your voter record as having voted in a GOP primary. You may start getting more Republican mail and solicitations. |
Started in 2016. It’s been a long 7 years. |
By treating it as if it were a weather day |
Middle school and high school will just skip over that day. They won't change the A/B calendar. It could mess up teachers' planning for that time of year. |
They can mail whatever they would like. I have a recycling bin. |
I guess all schools do it differently but my kid's school has anchor days Monday (all classes), then A days Tues/Thurs and B days Weds/Fri. When they have a day off, they just make the anchor day into whatever day will be missed. So that week, they'll probably have an A day Monday instead of the anchor day and the rest of the week will be status quo. It seemed super confusing at first but actually makes a lot of sense. |
I would think the opposite. Skipping over that day would mess up the teachers’ planning as they would lose that day in the week for instruction which would shift everything. |
