41 y/o male, six months unemployed. Three interviews in six months, no offers. Seems pretty terrible to me.

No offense but I don’t see how your productivity over the next 10 years will justify your cost to the taxpayers of America. Between cognitive decline and health deterioration, you have likely surpassed your peak of productivity.

The government should have a forced retirement age for this reason.

Please retire and make room for the people below you to move up. You had your turn and it was a good run. The people behind you have families they are trying to raise. Why do you need more money? What it is for??

Are you high? You are born 1973. You are not yet at prime of career. Retirement age is 67 and then a few board roles and adjunct professor gigs. You are 20-30 years from full retirement

For average white collar worker who never made director, 50 is pretty much it. Time to apply for government jobs.

I have a colleague who is in his late 60s, and he’s great. Very sharp and has deep experience in many aspects of our work.

Dead weight can be any age, and let’s be honest, this one certainly has a built in time limit.

Don’t be ageist.

Who knows, maybe she needs money to establish a trust for a DD left disability in a car accident?

Mid 60s and a CPA/MBA. If you want to do project consulting, there is work. I hate office politics so not a bad route.

You should complain that to the US government, not him/her. He/she is just playing by the rules.
